Voya are Linford Hydes & Eddie Al-Shakarchi. Influenced by the meticulous songwriting, opulent production and emotive vocals of British early ‘80s artists, their music embodies stylish dark electronica, synth-pop, and raw, guitar-driven new wave.
The mark looks to express their vibe like the personality of a character through the creation of a bespoke logotype. The lettering brings together the seemingly opposing worlds of elegance and strength set against a splash of human artistry. Through flowing lines and sharp, extended serifs, the mark evokes a mysterious beauty with glimpses of a darker edge.
The treatment of the wordmark takes cues from the mysterious connotations of the typography itself. Much like VOYA being revealed in the music scene, the lettering is revealed, shimmering, through light in the shadows.
